World Cyber Games 2009 is over – Ireland out but not down!
Sean now ranks as 9th overall Trackmania player in the world: http://www.tm-rankings.com/competitions/WCG-2009_853.html. Congratulations and thanks to Seán for his participation in this year’s final and for being a great ambassador for The Digital Hub and Ireland at this year’s event. Next years Grand Final will be held in Los Angeles, USA and will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the competition.
Seán Walsh, a 16-year-old Dublin schoolboy, beat off stiff competition from some of Ireland's top computer gamers to win the Irish final of the World Cyber Games at The Digital Hub on Tuesday 18th of August 2009.
Seán from Sutton on Dublin’s northside, will travel to China in November to represent Ireland in the international final of the World Cyber Games, considered the equivalent of the Olympics for computer gamers. He was hotly tipped as the favourite in advance of the competition: he is currently Ireland's top 'TrackMania Nations Forever' player and recently began playing computer games professionally.
